With over 23,000 students from 120 countries worldwide, UEL is one of the UK's most diverse and fastest growing universities.
Where we are:
London is a great place to live, work and study. It is a truly global city. It is the place where international business collides with a rich vein of creative and cultural expression.

Nowhere in the UK is this blend of old and new, tradition and innovation, more striking than in East London and the Thames Gateway: an area undergoing massive multi-million pound investment and regeneration. In fact it's the largest regeneration area in Europe.
At its heart, stands UEL. Stratford, our historic home, is in the global spotlight as never before in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Docklands, the site of our second, ultra-modern campus is also home the O2 arena, Canary Wharf and many other symbols of modern, multicultural London.
East London Lives
The University of East London has a both a global outlook and an international reputation. We also recruit significantly from our local area and continue to work actively with partners across the borough and the Thames Gateway to raise the aspirations and achievements of the local community.
Who we are
We are a global learning community, proud of our diversity, with a worldwide alumni network of over 37,000 members.
Students at UEL do not conform to the usual stereotypes. Many of our students are from non-traditional backgrounds. Many are over-21 on entry, and many are the first in their families to attend university.
This diversity of background, cultures and life experience enriches student life not just in the classrooms and seminars, and also on campus.
UEL is also a leader in the field of distance learning, and as such one of the top three providers of e-learning and distance learning programmes in the UK.
Positive about Inclusivity
We have been recognised nationally for our achievements and high standards. This is what the logos at the bottom of our site all mean.
UEL has made a commitment to supporting and using Fairtrade and has received Fairtrade University status. We ensure that Fairtrade products are available in as many places as possible and raise awareness of Fairtrade and the benefits that it brings to producers in developing countries with students and staff.
